Hello there! Welcome to Pack Creek Ranch!
Back in 2003, Jim and I heard that the cabins at Pack Creek were available. We had stayed there long before with our kids and parents for Thanksgiving; we came down immediately and checked out all the cabins.
We chose the best one, M4, and the smallest one, Trails End. That way when our kids come to visit, we can enjoy the grandkids while our children get the privacy of Trails End. They love biking and hiking in Moab, and we love the serenity and open green space on the ranch.
We have spent the last 17 years making our cabins comfortable and beautiful, while keeping with the authentic feel of real log cabins. Kitchens and bathrooms got updated and each cabin has a large porch or deck to enjoy the views of the ranch or the Red Rock ridge. Pets are welcome and so are children!
On cool nights there is a fossil-studded rock fireplace to take the chill off. The cabin is surrounded with mature trees providing plenty of shade. The large, east-facing, front porch is ideal for grilling and rocking chairs provide a relaxing spot after a day of enjoying this amazing piece of Utah. The giant front lawn is the perfect place for kids to roam.
Both cabins are air conditioned...and WI-FI is available both in the cabins (or next to them) and at the Welcome Center. No TV's though!
There is so much to do around Moab that each evening you will be ready for a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
A spa and swimming pool (typically open between Memorial Day and Labor Day) provide relaxation and a cooling respite on hot days. It is so refreshing to escape the heat in July and August by driving the short 15 minute drive to the foothills of the La Sal Mountains, and jump in the pool.
After your hikes, you may find apples, peaches or cherries in the orchard, or enjoy the sauna for your sore muscles. Night Skies at the ranch are an astronomer's delight!
The Ranch barns and pastures, including one with a small goat herd, retain the land’s ranching history. Wild turkeys, deer, bobcats, foxes, coyotes, great horned owls frequent the property.
We also have a large area set aside for parking gear trailers away from the cabins.
We enjoy sharing our cabins with you and hearing the wonderful comments that past guests from all over the world, have written; We would love to hear about your adventures while staying at the ranch, and where you are from, so be sure to write in the guest journal in your cabin.
Jennifer and Jim
p.s. Please be aware there are no fires or open flames permitted during high fire danger periods and Pack Creek ranch is a smoke-free ranch.

The ranch was originally over 300 acres, and cattle still roam the valley, sometimes leaving their marks on our grass... Before the settlers, the Native Americans hung out here and supposedly chased the white guys out who left so fast they left their packs giving Pack Creek its name.
M4 is the cabin built by the original rancher, Musselma

M4 is the cabin built by the original rancher, Musselman, who came here from Boulder, Utah and raised his four sons in the loft. His herd bore the brand M4.
Edward Abbey spent time writing one of his books here on the ranch, and characters from "The Monkey Wrench Gang" still live in the valley. (You may notice "Desert Solitaire" Road, and Abbey Road.)
One of the best experiences you can have in Moab is the "Canyonlands By Night" river cruise. You may also want to raft the Colorado with one of the many companies in Moab.
I loved the "Up on Top" rock climbing on a jeep if you love a little excitement.

How about exploring by renting your own jeep and drive the Gemini Bridges trail. Explore both Arches and Canyonlands as well as the Utah state park Dead Horse Point by car, jeep or with hiking.
Mountain Bikers love Moab's Slickrock Trail, or if you are REALLY into biking, take "The Whole Enchilada" which starts 15 miles up the mountain from Pack Creek and goes 34 miles to town descending 8000 feet ....
