One of the best experiences you can have in Moab is the "Canyonlands By Night" river cruise. You may also want to raft the Colorado River with one of the many companies in Moab.
I loved the "Up on Top" rock climbing on a jeep if you love a little excitement.
How about exploring by renting your own jeep and drive the Gemini Bridges trail. Explore both Arches and Canyonlands as well as Dead Horse Point-a Utah State Park-by car, jeep or by hiking for an unforgettable view
Mountain Bikers love Moab's Slickrock Trail, or if you are REALLY into biking, take "The Whole Enchilada" which starts 15 miles up the mountain from Pack Creek and goes 34 miles to town descending 8000 feet!
Close to the ranch, just off highway 191, at Hidden Valley Trail head, there is a great trail called Pipe Dream.
Another day trip by car or mountain bike is up Kane Creek Road through the Portal of the Colorado, where you can picnic by Native American petroglyphs and petrographs.
Further along is the bike trail known as Captain Ahab Bike Trail which is a favorite.
For a relaxing cooler day you can drive the La Sal Mountain Loop up to a fantastic view of the Southwest and then down to the Colorado River where you will find a winery, a western film museum, horseback riding, and a gorgeous drive back to Moab along the Colorado River. Just turn right instead of left when you exit Pack Creek Road.
After you hike to Delicate Arch or bike on the Brand Trail into town, Be sure to stop in the MOAB GARAGE for La Barba coffee and nitro ice cream, or across the street at DOUGHBIRD for chicken or donuts.
There is so much to do around Moab that each evening you will be ready for a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
A spa and swimming pool (typically open between Memorial Day and Labor Day) provide relaxation and a cooling respite on hot days. It is so refreshing to escape the heat in July and August by driving the short 15 minute drive to the foothills of the La Sal Mountains, and jump in the pool.
After your hikes, you may find apples, peaches or cherries in the orchard, or enjoy the sauna for your sore muscles. Make an appointment for a Massage by Jan, who lives next door to the ranch.
Night Skies at the ranch are an astronomer's delight!
